Bible. Not just devotionals.  Difference between reading scripture and reading about scripture.  May not understand.  But if year after year you continue to read, you will grow and understand more.
Pen.  Mark up your Bible.  Wear out your bible with notes and highlights!
Journal.  Write down at least one thing you got from that reading.  You will add more "depth" to your life and wisdom!  Did you or do you take notes in school lectures?  Why not with the lectures from God's teachers?
Reading program.  Takes us to read things we would avoid otherwise.
Daily planner.  Things will come to mind about other things you need to do that day or otherwise.  Write them down in the planner and get back to the Bible.  Will help you from wandering and worrying about other things than focusing on the scripture.
Luke 10:41
Martha and Mary.  Only a few things are necessary.  Choose the few good things.
Prayer
We need to hear from God more than God needs to hear from us.  Highest form of prayer is God telling me what God wants.  Makes me a disciple.  John 14:21
Bible is Word of God.  My Father.  Take notes on what your Father is telling you.  Listen!  (share your requests, too, but never at the expense of being seated at your Lord's feet and learning from him).
Daily, bring your five items.  1 hr. 20 minutes silent reading, 20 min of (SOAP, see the link on our web page) journal, 20 minutes of sharing.  Meet with people for instance at a Starbucks and at a regular time daily.  Wayne does that at 6:30 am every morning.  Invites a group of five to join him.  His wife is an evening person, so she does her devotions at night.  BUT, they are on the "same page" because they are doing the same daily devotion and can talk about it after they have both done it at their best time of the day.

Manage your energy and allocate it with your time.
