Nominations

The Council of Elders is seeking nominations for the Council (spiritual leadership and governance of the congregation), the Board of Trustees (responsible for finances and property), the Preschool Board (responsible for the Fairlawn West Preschool), and the Treasurer.  Any member can nominate another member to the Council following these guidelines in our Constitution "they have given evidence of spiritual leadership within the church, worship weekly with the congregation of Fairlawn West UCC, they participate regularly in a small group and/or growth/education opportunity within the church, and they are committed to grow in personal and church wide stewardship of finances, time, and spiritual gifts."  You must seek first the permission of the person you wish to nominate.  The election will be at the Annual Meeting on February 19th.  contact office@fairlawnwest.org

Fairlawn West Preschool

The preschool has added a new class and a new teacher.  A two day a week (Mon and Wed) 2's class is being taught by Nichole Gaydos.  Nichole is also assisting with extended care in the afternoons.  We are now enrolling all students age 2 to prekindergarten for Fall 2012.  Contact the preschool.

 

Summer Camps

The Ohio Conference of the United Church of Christ offers a number of summer camps for children, youth, adults and families at our two camps - Camp Templed Hills in Bellville and Pilgrim Hills Center near Brinkhaven.  Some of the camps are off site.  There is registration information in the office and a camp schedule on the bulletin board.  You can also find out the details on all the camps online.  Contact office@fairlawnwest.org .

 

Thanks to all the folks who have helped with hosting Family Promise families in our building, who provided the meal and worshiped with Miller Ave UCC on 5th Sunday, and who serve at the Williard Food Pantry.
